State Data Centre

The State Data Centre (SDC) serves as a cornerstone within the e-Governance framework, meticulously designed to function as a secure, shared, and dependable hub for hosting and overseeing applications essential to the State and its various departments. At its core, the SDC embodies a fundamental aspiration to construct a resilient infrastructure that empowers the Government to efficiently provide its services to all stakeholders.

Central to this vision, the State Data Centre is seamlessly interwoven into the fabric of the Statewide Area Network (SWAN), a network architecture that extends access to e-Governance applications and services to government personnel via the Intranet and simultaneously enables public access through the Internet.

A significant stride towards this vision materialized with the establishment of an advanced State Data Centre in Bhubaneswar by the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC), complete with round-the-clock support. This centre, operational since October 15th, 2011, was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri. Naveen Patnaik, on November 3rd, 2011. This State Data Centre acts as a vital support system for a multitude of e-Governance initiatives taken up by the Government of Odisha.

In summary, the State Data Centre is an embodiment of a forward-looking strategy to enhance governance through advanced technological infrastructure. Its integration with the Statewide Area Network, its operational excellence, and its role in supporting e-Governance initiatives underscore its significance as a critical component of Odisha's digital transformation journey.
